Belly's trip
During the last days David and me have had the visit of our friend Martin. It has been a short but intense visit with traditional performances and as always here in Navarra, good meals and good wine... lol.
Day 1. The arriving
Martin arrived in Biarritz around 1pm. Arriving there was an opportunity to go with him to San Sebastian:
Martin in Donosti
Once there we walked along the beach, we ate pintxos and we enjoyed txakoli...
Pintxo Time!
After having lunch we decided to walk a bit and we spent until around 7pm in San Sebastian, then we went back to Pamplona.
We were going to go to David's graduation party but after watching a bit of "tiki taka" and play some (a lot) of PRO's we
changed our minds and we went to sleep.
The next day was going to be long...
Day 2. The Almadias
Every year there is a performance in Burgui (small village of Navarra) where some people goes down the river with a kind of boats made of wood.
Those boats were made in the past as a way of transporting the wood along the river from the mountains to the towns...
It was my first time and for sure, Martin's first time. We went with my friend Javier and his girlfriend Silvia, we saw the spectacular performance while we drank some beers...
After the show, there was a market with traditional food and stuff, we ate some cheese, some txistorra and we went back to Pamplona, it was almost 3pm and we had to arrived before 5pm when the match against Osasuna and Zaragoza was starting!!!
We went to the match, Martin enjoyed (I think) so much with Osasuna's supporters and the game was also great. It was a pity the last minute when Zaragoza scored and draw the match...2-2 at the end.
As you can see Martin was completely dressed up for the match!!
But someone enjoyed more than him...
We didnt know what to do after the match so...we went to the old part for eating some pintxos!! Martin was already tired of eating but he didn't know the real big meal was coming!!!!!
Ah! We also visited the running of the bulls monument...Yes, we have a monument in the city center..
David, Natalia and Ruben in Caballo Blanco...
Day 3. Visiting Estella
On monday we had an appointment with my mum and dad, they were going to invite us for lunch so we arrived in Estella around 2pm, and we were hungry!!!!!
My mum cooked lots and lots of food...Even David was full and couldn't eat all the Jamón Serrano of the dish!!!!
The food was great and it was so funny because neither my mum nor my dad speak anything of English and Martin speaks nothing of Spanish so...my mum thought that maybe shouting in spanish he was going to understand...lol.
I didn't say that the day before, Martin met all my family in my aunt's house when we went to take the Osasuna tickets...It was even funnier than seeing my mum shouting...
After having lunch, around 5pm... ;) we had a walk around the village so Martin could walk a bit in the pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Compostela (Camino de Santiago), is cool in Germany!!!
The Santiago's path...
We walked for a long time and when we came home back, of course we had more food waiting for us!!!
When it was almost 9pm we went back to Pamplona, we thought in play bowling that night but at the end...we played PRO again! (Martin won the league between David, him and me...)
Day 4. See you soon mate!
On tuesday David and me took Martin to Biarritz again and we had our last coffee together for the moment...He wont manage to come back in Sanfermin but soon we will go to Alemanni!!!!
It was a really nice trip and I think all of us enjoyed a lot this meeting. See you soon mate!!
Each day I see that the friends I made in Sydney are good friends!!
See all of you soon mates!
